Price-Target Momentum
The change in the analysts’ average price target since the prior published period — positive when the Street is marking the target UP, negative when it is cutting. This is the most forward-looking piece of the factor: because analysts revise targets gradually, a target that has started rising is often the earliest visible fingerprint of a re-rating, well before trailing price momentum confirms it. A falling target is the same signal in reverse and tends to precede weakness. This measure is scored against sector peers, so it captures whether this name is being marked up faster than the companies it competes with, not simply whether the whole sector is in favour.
