Estimate Change
How the analysts’ average forecast has changed since an earlier date. Analysts raise estimates when a business is doing better than they expected and cut them when it is doing worse, so the direction of revisions is one of the better-studied signals in investing. The data vendor only publishes today’s average, never its history, so Meridian records the consensus every day and measures the change itself, over the last 30 days once that much history exists and since recording began until then. This is separate from the Analyst Expectations grade in the Meridian Score, which reads analyst ratings and price targets.
