Earnings Per Share (EPS)
The company’s profit divided by the number of shares — how much each share earned. It’s the figure most directly tied to a stock’s price, since valuation multiples like P/E are built on it. We show diluted EPS, which accounts for stock options and other potential new shares, giving the more conservative and realistic picture. Steadily rising EPS is what compounds a stock over time; watch whether it’s growing because the business is, or merely because the share count is shrinking via buybacks.
