Revenue

The total money the company brought in from sales before any costs — the “top line.” It’s the purest measure of demand and scale: growing revenue means the business is selling more, which is the raw material for everything below it. On its own it says nothing about profit (a company can grow sales while losing money), so read it alongside net income and margins, but a company that can’t grow revenue will struggle to grow earnings for long.
