Company Basics
Exchange
The stock market the shares are listed on, such as NASDAQ or NYSE. It’s useful context for two reasons: bigger, established exchanges impose listing standards (size, reporting, governance) a company must meet, which is a basic quality filter; and it confirms you’re looking at the company’s primary US listing rather than a thinly-traded secondary or foreign line. For a newcomer it’s mostly reassurance that the stock trades on a major, well-regulated venue.
